South Africa is looking at the country’s biggest cryptocurrency fraud as the two Africrypt Founders, Raees and Ameer Cajee, disappeared with Bitcoins worth $3.6 billion belonging to the investors of the fund. Ameer Cajee, the Chief Operating Officer of Africrypt, wrote to the investors on April 13 informing them that the investment platform has been hacked which forced them to halt operations.

The CEO of one of the largest crypto exchanges in Turkey Theodex is under criminal investigation. The complaint alleges that the CEO had run away with customers' funds totaling over 2 billion. Turkish Police has detained 62 people linked with the exchange and issued detention warrants for 16 more persons.

Four executive employees of South Korean crypto exchange V Global have been arrested on charges of alleged fraud in a case that police say involves 52,000 victims and cumulative losses of more than US$1.9 billion, according to local media reports. It was reported that V Global lured investors by promising 300% returns.
